Painting with Light
In my first photo, I tried to write my name with a blue light. I used a shutter of 6 seconds. I used a blue stick light and it was a light fluorescent blue. I moved the light to try and spell my name but it was sort of jumbled together but I still liked how it looked. My photo is very bright and it looks 3D. I feel that the viewer looks and the photo and it makes them question what I was trying to spell which I like because it makes the photo more interesting.
Aperture
I took photos of an old camera and a set of keys and in one of the photos the camera was in focus. To create a shallow depth of field, I used a large aperture opening of around f/4.5. I used a ISO of 800. I also used the white balance of fluorescent while taking the pictures and also used the manual setting and a shutter speed of 1/1000. To create a large depth of field, I used a small aperture opening of f/18. I used an ISO of 800 and the exposure was 1/80 of a second. I used the white balance of fluorescent while taking the pictures. I think the best picture was the photo where the camera was in focus and the keys were out of focus because it gave more depth to the picture and made the photo more interesting. I would want to use a shallow depth of field when trying to create a blur while keeping one part of an image in focus. On the other hand, I would use a large depth of field when trying to keep the whole photo in focus.
Homework pictures
Color correct
I chose to take pictures of a swing that I’ve had since I was really little in my back yard. I used to go outside and my dad would push me on it all the time. I have good memories attached to the swing and through the years it never broke which I also find interesting because it’s made of plastic. I photographed the swing from all different angles and I moved around the swing. I used my iPhone to take the pictures and then converted the pictures to black and white to create an eerie look. Unfortunately my neighbor’s house was in most of the pictures so I used different tools such as the clone stamp to remove the house in the background. Finally, I tried to take the picture at different distances and at different angles to change the focus of the image.
